Descendants of Thomas Sparks Kennedy will dedicate the family cemetery located off Farm-to—Market 3662 in the Springdale Community on Sunday, May 21, at 1;30pm.
Not long ago, two cousins, Miss Jerline Kennedy of Atlanta and Mrs. Lucy Kennedy Canter of Jacksonville, began the project of restoring the old family cemetery which is located on land that was owned by the Kennedy family for many years, presently owned by J. W. Beaver heirs.
The work being done includes removing trees and stumps from the area, fencing the cemetery with cyclone wire, repairing and sandblasting the tombstone and wrought-iron fence around the grave of Josiah Kennedy, the first family member to be buried there, and installing a new monument in memory of the other eight people buried there.
