OLD BEAR CREEK TABERNACLE AND CEMETERY
LINDEN, CASS COUNTY TEXAS
LOCATION To reach Bear Creek Tabernacle and Cemetery, from Hwy 155
in the west edge of Linden, turn southwest an CR 1617 Continue
until you intersect with CR 1626. Turn: right, Tabernacle and
Cemetery on right just a shocrt distance from intersection. (You can
continue on 1626 on to Bear Creek Church and-Cemetery and back to
155 from there if you wish.)
Cemetery was read 23-APR-1994 by Audrey Rankin.
The Old Bear Creek Tabernacle and Cemetery were lost in the "Bear Creek" wildfire of Sept. 2011, Texas Forest Service officials estimated that as much as 30,000 acres of timber and pasture in Cass and Marion counties had been scorched by wildfires.
The cemetery is in tact but needs care, some graves have been decorated by family members.
This cemetery is known to be predominantly white.
