WHITTAKER MEMORIAL CEMETERY
LODI, CASS COUNTY, TEXAS
LOCATION: From Atlanta intersection of Hwy 43 & West Main St.,
proceed south on Hwy 43 to Bivins & FM 248, (7 miles). Drive south
on 248 for 6 miles to Kildare. Continue south on 248 toward Lodi
for 5 miles and look for Whittaker Cemetery sign. Turn right at
sign. Proceed through gate to cemetery. From Lodi Post Office,
drive north to cemetery sign. Turn left & proceed through gate.
Cemetery was read 08-NOV-1995 starting in the NE corner north to
south, by Melba Tims, Irene Powell, Kathryn McAlexander, Gerald
Hammock, Jane Nunn, Charles Steger, Thelma Fennoy, Irene Tilford &
Faye Williams.
This cemetery is known to be predominantly black.
The oldest known marked grave: ROW 16
